tickle, face, silly

In honor of wendywoowho I have posted my version of Tom Kha Gai -- literally boiled chicken with Galanga -- a favorite for both of us.

If you have a favorite dish or recipe, please let me know. I plan on including recipes as a whim and when I feel they need / deserve the attention.

Also, with the holidays coming up, the best holiday dessert posted will get a $20 Chevron gas card.

New planetx.com

My website planetx.com has gone through a lot of iterations, but I've finally decided on turning it into a geek travel log. Aimed at the "not quite youth hostel, but not 5 star either" crowd -- interested in conventions, sci-fi shops and the paranormal. Because of my tastes, it will also have biker bars, good pubs and the rest.

I think that with Cori's reviews on hotels and our random wandering vacations, we should have some really good content.

I invite all of you to put in your two cents worth at the site: http://www.planetx.com/

Who is God?

A little kid asks his father, "Daddy, is God a man or a woman?"

"Both son. God is both."

After awhile the kid comes again and asks, "Daddy, is God black or white?"

"Both son, both."

"Daddy, does God love children?"

"Yes son, he loves all children."

The child returns a few minutes later and says, "Daddy, is Michael Jackson God?"

Six Man vBall at Surf Fest

We have two tents set up near court 5 against the wall!

Woo hoo!

"UPS, How we roll. Delivering large packages to your wife daily."

Here is a photo of waiting for tent spots:

We may be one of the oldest teams in the tournament, but we beat some pro and semi-pro teams every year to make it to the second day -- where we get CREAMED. But, heck it is fun!

Save Ferris!

On my way to work I saw two older gentlemen driving a Ferrari 250 GT California Spider. It was a hideous yellow color, but still a classic.

Cell phones as the root of misery?

On my way to work, I noticed that almost half the people I saw walking or driving were on their cellphones. Did this many people really have something so important to talk about that it could not wait until they were at home or at the office?

What would these people have done 20 years ago?

I find that people are so caught up talking about things, that they rarely actually do them. We all need time to absorb our experiences and think about things. You cannot possibly talk on the phone and think at the same time. And if you can't think about things, or do them, how far can you get trying to make your life happy?

I really do think that for most people, the more you talk on the phone, the less you actually do. And the less you do, the less you do for yourself and your family.

My two cents.
